We signed up for 2 20" runs (she really should run 24", but hey why not shoot low?). I a sorry to announce I hav eno great stories - she was fantabulous!!!!! little annoying dog headed toward her - she jumped with her front feet on my chest and stayed like that till he got bored and left - this is the coping mechanism she has choosen and I am okay with it - just always wear dark colors to hide the foot prints!!!!. Anyway back to agility run thru. well she blew her first sit stay and I put her back- hey training opportunity! she was one of only a handful of dogs who actually chose the dog walk instead of the adjacent tunnel when told to do so and she did her lead outs and call backs and didn't refuse any obstacle - EXCEPT for the frame. people and dogs were standing right up against it and she refused to run at the other dogs - I am okay with that. we did the rest of the cours e and some training and all was good. On our second run I asked for people to move their dogs and she ran up the dog frame on my second send. she only missed one jump and when she did I heard my instructor say - your fault not hers. All in all - it was a good first time out for her. we may try this again And the sutures didn't seem to bother her at all. apparently while I may think its like a flashing neon light on her shoulder, when I asked a friend if they were too obvious while she was running and she looked at me like I was a little touched - "what sutures? " |
