So, not knowing a thing about her coworker, I answer the email and say, "there are no quality breeders in the state, only those that do it for money while not paying a bit of attention to health, welfare, and integrity of the breed". After hitting send, I started to second guess the tone of my comments. As my husband always says, "god loves his sheepies and the people that keep them safe". Today, I received a lovely email response from my neighbors coworker. She is a true sheepie person, that had been involved in showing her dogs for a time and appreciated (and understood) my comment. I need a 2 phase send button sometimes. And yes, I gave her the oes.org address. |

Been there, done that!
You say what you feel, never second guess! You did good! |
Although I'm not in OESCA, I consider myself a responsible breeder, as Sidney had all proper tests before I bred her and I was critical of potential studs. I do know what you mean, though. In general, Utah is not a great place to find high-quality breeders. Most 'breeders' that I talk with here aren't knowledgable and some are even clueless when I talk about OFA or CERF. Then of course they always seem to comment, why do that if no one else does? *ugh* |
