Baloo did this for a little time when he was a younger pup. If I remember right it didn't last too long... we just made sure that we didn't react to his reactions so he'd not get more anxious or think we were giving that behaviour praise, so we just stayed calm, talked to him calm, or outright just ignored it. After a couple weeks it went away. I think it's part of the growing and exploring and figuring out what is what stage of puppyhood.
Now he only acts leary when he "should"-- like when a runner came up to us while we were out walking. Baloo was totally caught off guard (as was I). Or the time a huge black bag of leaves was blowing down the street one day when the wind was just horrible. He did NOT like that bag rolling along. |
