Here is a post on it, there all different as to when they finally change to that full Mature coat, this post has visuals and also there is two coat transitions from the puppy stage, the junior coat then eventually the full adult mature coat.
Hope this helps, some go through the transitions early others later no set rule on age and changes in the coats. http://www.oes.org/page2/10404~Coat_Tra ... s_Old.html |
Thanks Lisa, I hadnt seen that post before, its great!! Is it a sticky and I just didnt notice? |
I am starting to see a change. Brushing Abbey tonight and fine looking hair flying everywhere! I haven't seen this much hair come off her before. Her white hair is becoming softer and the grey hair still course. Is she just changing now or is this an adult thing about this time of the year? She is 19 months old. |
cool! But....I have to wait four years to see the adult coat???? Well, it will be worth the wait |
Not necessarily 4 years to that full easier Mature adult coat.
Some change earlier some later, depends on the lines. One of mine had a full mature coat by 2 1/2, there all different in their developement. But they are a late maturing breed not like the toys and smaller breeds that seem to be fully mature by 12 months. And what a lot of people dont realise is the Two coat transitions from the black and white fluffy baby OES. |
that is really cool. |
