first off WECOME to the forum!
I can;t help but I am sure someone can. Has your oes been to a vet lately? |
welcome!
It could be the way you are brushing her. what are you using? of course it could also be a change to the inside drier heat. Or could be related to a medical condition - and to confuse you even more, last year my intact female blew her entire undercoat before a heat cycle. |
Hi and WELCOME to the community!
You say she is full grown, but you didn't mention her age. I wonder if there's a possibility she's blowing out her puppy coat? Sheepies don't have a shedding season, so if it isn't a coat transition, then perhaps a visit to the vet would be in order. Hypothyroid (unfortunately somewhat common in OES but easily manageable) and a few other less common things can cause hair loss. |
I'm going with Kerry on this one. It could easily be the type
of brush you are using. Are you noticing a lot of undercoat, or a lot of guard hairs? If it's undercoat only it's likely your brush. Pin brushes with knobs on the tips tend to pull undercoat. Otherwise I'm guessing the change from outdoors to in could be the reason. Or it could be a little of both. (and probably is) If you are new to grooming OES there is a ton of great info in the grooming section. The grooming is one thing I still struggle with from time to time. Shellie |
