Introducing myself

Hi Everyone!
I am Chanda...I live in central Iowa. I am one of those Sheepie lovers sans Sheepie. ;o)

When I was younger I had a very beloved OES named Toby. He passed away a few years ago and I still miss him. I have two other dogs (Grommit - westie and Oliver - cavalier king charles spaniel). Both of them loved Toby, too (they would visit Toby when we all went to visit my parents in MN).

Ron found a blog post that I had written a couple of days ago where I was blathering on about how much I missed Toby and he invited me to the forum. So...that's how I got here.

I have loved reading the posts so far and hope that I can continue to get to know you all a little better...and get my Sheepie fix (at least temporarily). My husband and I are going through an international adoption process to bring home a little boy from Ghana, West Africa. We adopted his older brothers a little over a year ago and then found out that he arrived at the orphanage, too. So, we're off on another (unexpected) adventure! International adoption is pretty much an emotional rollercoaster ride....which is always when I seem to miss Toby the most. He was so good at knowing just when I needed him to do something silly (or give me extra kisses).

I'd love to make room in our life for an OES...but right now all of our extra money is going toward the international adoption process. Someday, though we will get one. I would love for my boys to have a faithful OES companion.

Ok...now I've blathered on enough. Thanks for letting me hang out, read about your fur-kids and pine over their photos!

Wow... you've been busy. Best of luck with the adoption process, hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Welcome to the forum :)
Welcome!!! It's wonderful to have another sheepie lover here. Not everyone here has an oes. Paula, I think, is the most famous non sheepie owner. But she is the official sheepie auntie!

What an exciting adventure you are going on! ANOTHER SON!! Congrats to you and your family!

Welcome, sit down, take your shoes off and help yourself to coffee or wine. We're a nice bunch!

:ghug:
Welcome and congrats on the adoption,. Hope all goes well.
Welcome Chanda, from MN. :D

Westies and CKCS's are fun little dogs.

Best wishes on the adoption of your sons' little brother. That has to be exciting and nerve wracking.
Welcome to the forum!
Welcome to the forum, Chanda! What an exciting time you're experiencing right now. How old are your other sons? And how old is the child you're adopting? We would LOVE to see pictures of everyone. And if you feel up to it, you can post pictures of Toby, too.

Good luck, and keep us posted!!
Welcome! How exciting to be adopting another son...good luck and safe travels.
G'day from upside down land :D
Another welcome from Aus, Chandra. My sister's sister in law adopted internationally a few years ago, an emotional roller coaster all right. Its worth it though, good luck and as smooth sailing as possible :D
Hi Chandra,
I enjoyed your intro, my goodness how exciting your life is right now!! I don't have a sheepie either, still waiting on my first, a rescue, hopefully soon. Welcome!
Welcome to the forum. :D
