I'm not 100% sure but I thought it was so uncoordinated dills like me cant spill stuff in them and electrocute ourselves. |
You can have floor plugs installed, they are made but they are expensive. |
because it's easier for the carpet layer???? |
My house is very old, and has few outlets.
And, many of them are way up high - about 3 1/2 feet from the floor. Try and hide those cords!! |

We have two floor outlets in the living room. We had to get a special permit from the county when we were building to put them in.... Because they are in the floor, they propose more of a hazard. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. |
I suppose they figure you will hide them with furniture |

Are they the brass colored with the screw-in top? Are they flush with the floor? Did you have them put in because there was a large open space? Are they still in a good place? |

They are almost flush-- painted to match the carpet which is a cream burper. They have a screw in top. We have a large long large area that is "cut in half" with a sofa and conversation area. I have an antique sofa table that I wanted to put a lamp on... that is what started the thought process. Furniture hides them, but I feel limited now with arranging the room. I don't like the look of them , so they always need to be covered. I was disapointed from the day of installation, but John dared me to ask for them to be removed and the carpet replaced. I think it is a great idea, maybe for a den or office though. |
