UK and Snow

How are all of the UK members handling the snow? I was there twice and I bet it is causing havoc there. Are there plans for such snow fall? I live in NE Missouri and people think that this area gets snow, but we rarely get a lot. We get tons of ice. St. Louis gets a ton compared to us and our small town shuts down due to the lack of assistance and planning for such an event.

Hope all is well in the UK for all OES members! Hopefully you have internet! That is always a savior.

Great pics Kim. The girls like they are haveing fun fun fun.
I love the photos. Saw one, I don't know if it was yours or someone elses with a huge amount of snow balls hooked to the legs. I haven't had that much snow this year yet. So funny they look like pom poms.

It was a pain in the bum last night trying to get to work 40 miles away, an area I travel trough had lots of major roads closed, the main road I was on the traffic was stopped by the police in several areas as there had beeen some intensive snowfall upto 18 inches around the Salisbury area, I got caught up in it, had a nice little 1 1/2 hour wait in my car while we waited for a snow plough to come past, there were abandoned cars not helping the situation.

The roads in places also had sheet ice which made diving hairy, the A303 is like a roller coaster in places.

I eventually managed to turn around and crawl home with my tail between my legs.

Hopefully to night I'll get through.

The main trouble is we as individuals are not really equiped tyre wise, as we normally just have rain etc.
Erm I made it in tonight - Just!

if this keeps up, time to get some winter tires!

I agree with you, Winter tires! This is actually a MUST in Germany otherwise you would get fined! I want to get some now!

I should be at work by now but cant reach Bakewell, that means I will not get paid and who knows about the next days???

New job would be really great!!
We were snowed in monday & tuesday. We had thunder and lightening with our snow- what is that all about? Friction on dry snow or something? There was so much static in the house touching Ru was almost dangerous
We don't have much snow :(

We had lots on Monday but then it melted overnight. george had a great time

We have a covering today but I want lots more so I can get lots of George in the snow pictures!!
Anyone ice skating on the Thames this year?
 I wouldn't risk falling in there it's like the 'bog of eternal stench'
Does the smell lower the river's freezing point?
