Hot Ears
Has anyone experianced there oes with hot ears? any idea as to what this could be |

| when I notice hot ears the first thing I do is clean them out - usually it has been connected to an ear infection, however I asssume it could be related to a fever as well. |

| I agree with the above. When my girls ears are hot either they are running a temp or they have an ear infection. |
Chewie gets hot ears when he is hot. 
It is natures way of helping cool them down. There are lots of blood vessels in the ear, and are spread out over a thin surface area that can catch ventilation from both sides. This is the whole ear flap, not just close to the head.  If just the inner area is hot, then time to suspect an ear infection or the like. |

you know in people ears can get hot and red from an allergic reaction. could be the same in dogs? |
| I'm going to step the cleaning up I think to twice a day for 2 weeks, if this doesn't help I'll have to go back to the vets I think. I'm going to use Quistel which uses an old fashioned formula heard good reports about this and the above is what they recormend.
Her ears aren't felted or matted she never gets a chance to get that way I'm afraid. Thanks for your help Val |
