This point is moot. USA Network will be airing Westminster and never had any intention not to do so...
The newspaper article was a publicity move by PETA. My understanding is that USA Network is very annoyed with PETA for starting all of the trouble, so I don't think you'll have to worry about losing the coverage for a long time. |
Just saw the add last night...go USA network...it's the best!!! |
One of the coments actually had a good idea though.
A show featuring shelter pets. Especially with all of the people forced to turn their pets in due to the economy. they could even do it daily - a different shelter each day, from different parts of the country. |
There already are shows on daily (here in Ontario at least) that feature shelter dogs, fundraising for shelters and animal orgs.
PETA drives me nuts... best interests of the animals my ass. |

PETA drives me nuts... best interests of the animals my ass. Totally. There are a lot more shows about shelter dogs than there are those promoting breed education. Don't get me wrong, I think the shelter shows (like Animal Precinct-- all the different cities, Underdog to Wonderdog, etc.) are great but I was really happy to see that new show Dogs 101 on, that does profiles of breeds, letting people know what the breed it all about. (Speaking of which, there's also that Breed All About it show but it's pretty lame and limited). Sometimes I think there's so much push for shelter dogs by the media, it really starts making people think having a purebred dog is wrong, or a bad idea. |
