Am in Arlington. An would be great to have a chance for my 6 1/2 month old puppy to meet a good Sheepie for play. There aren't too many places around here for her to run, so am willing to travel. Let us know.
BTW: My pup is sort of Alpha and needs to come down a notch or two. |
Hi. I just moved to the Herndon, VA area and have a five year old OES named Maggie, and another five year old pug named Zoey. If you guys do decide to get together, I would love to meet you. My fiancee and I don't know anyone in this area yet. So far, we've been going to the dog park in Reston, off Baron Cameron Ave. which is pretty nice but we would be willing to travel to meet you if you know of someplace else. Thanks! |
Hi and welcome to Northern Virginia! Your Maggie is a cutie. (Pug is a cutie, too!)
I didn't hear back from graciesheepie, perhaps because of my description of Winnie but she is now 15 months old and has settled down - some. Haven't been to the Reston dog park you mentioned, but looked it up on a map. There also is one in Oakton that appears to be about halfway between Arlington (where we are) and Herndon. What do you think? We also could converse via PM if you prefer... Cool. Very few sheepies in this area it seems!!!!! |
I live in DC and have a six, almost seven!, month old female who is still very puppyish and needs some fun-loving and tolerant friends.
And I need to figure out how to get a picture the right size to add... |
Welcome to the OES Forum. You will find lots of good advice, ideas here for raising your OES pup. They can be a handful!
As for the pic, if you have Windows picture manager, you can look for the "compress picture" button and that will size it (for e-mail size) to post here. We would love to see your puppy!!!!! We love puppies! |
Welcome Gemma! Cute puppy, I'm glad to hear that you figured out how to post her photo in your profile. If you're still looking to meet up, I'm interested. Kay may be interested too and her OES is closer in age to yours. My OES is five but still acts like a puppy. Feel free to send me a PM if you would like to chat further! |
Winnie came to a play date in NC and she was wonderful!!!!!!
Let me know when and where and we MAY come.... It depends on how far north..... I don't mind the travel but, since we have a few we can't both go too far!! Plus, Winnie has the cutest pink erasers!! |
Hi all, I have been looking for a sheepie for quite some time now and live in Fredericksburg, Va. Does anyone have any suggestions for me for a breeder? I can't seem to find reputable/close breeders, and I'm willing to travel! Please PM me with your breeder if you'd like to share! Thanks!

It is best to refer to
www.oldenglishsheepdogclubofamerica.org They have a breeder referral program. You can also put this posting under getting a puppy for more responses. Good Luck |
Thank-you for the reply. I have contacted everyone on the breeder referral list within 5 hours of my home and they all say they aren't breeding anymore! |
From the OES site breed referral there is a reputable breeder in Mechanicsville.
Here's their website: http://www.shaggeybarkoes.com/index.html |
Yes, I have been to her house and have no problem with her/her pups. I am just looking for a little bit more of an option. Her pups are a *bit* out of my price range, thought I understand you get what you pay for. I am not bashing, because I will eventually go to her if I cannot find anyone else. Thanks for the reply! |
I just have to say that pic above is just a great "playdate" shot of what we all want for our OES....................well done. |
