About a month or so ago, I changed to this ( it's hard to take your own picture-- so the angle makes me look much older and wrinkled- or so I keep telling myself ) Behind the ears.... Not behind the ears... When I first got it cut, and went darker I liked it. Now- I don't think I do. Be brutal- I want your honest opinions. Oh- just as a note, I can easily do something about the hair-- the wrinkles will require surgery, so let's lay off those for a while. |
|
First off, my honest opinion is they both look great. Not okay, but great. You look beautiful. That's the first pic I remember seeing of you.
You look like the kind of mom I love in the 1st pic. Sweet, always happy, the go-to person. In the second pic, it makes you look hip, brings out your beautiful big eyes, and maybe even a few years younger. If I had to choose, I'd prefer the 1st. Your face just makes me smile there, but... the "haircut" you have with the brown hair looks really good. I really just feel both work for you. |
I couldn't pick. You look great in each of the pics! |
I love the New Look!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It really look nice!!!!! |
I think both look great too!!!! But the darker shade does bring out your very beautiful eyes!!! They just pop!!!!! (IMO....being brutally honest...I love it!!!) |
I like the shorter do, either in front or in back of ears. Those of us with the stuff under the chin need to keep bulk of hear away from that area..like ending hair there. So yes, shorter.
As to color, you like the darker. Fine. How is this with the possible grey. I see highlights.......with the grey be included in the highlights. I guess I'm asking, how close is this darker color with natural color? Personally, I like the lighter color, but then, I was a bottle blond for 40+ years and a bottle red for.....I'm not sure. So I'm not one to talk about natural color or transitions....... But I do think the darker color brings out your eye color! |
I agree! the dark brings out your eyes!. BUT I like the blonde. I have to say I have dark hair but have not seen it in over 30 yrs. I love being blonde. I once trid to darken it and my husband to me to change it back. WHY!!! because I changed with the darker. HUGH!!! I think I should have been born blonde.
I had changed my aperence with the darker and I felt yucky. SO MY VOTE IS FOR BLONDE as for the the cut both look nice! |
SheepieBoss--- Good questions. My stylist matched the new to my roots- so it is very close to my natural color. I really had no idea I was that dark-- I have been blonde for 36 years! She added a few carmel highlights to break it up a bit. So far, no gray has shown up- not even at the temples. This was a permanent color, so I imagine I'll start seeing those at about 8 weeks or so.
She says I have very little gray, which I find hard to believe. John likes it darker , and I am still on the fence, which is why I asked for opinions |
Personally, I *almost* always prefer darker hair. I think very few people pull off blonde really well. However, that said, I do think the blonde looks good on you. Seriously. It's very flattering.
Still, if I had to choose, I think the darker hair makes you look younger and your eye color really does pop. The cut helps with that, too. The cut is more suited to your face, IMO. So, I'd keep it. |
Good pictures (and NO the angle does not make you look older and wrinkled!)
I like it darker actually. I think it looks great the darker color. I side with Hubby on this one!! |
It was hard for me to decide, because the blond hair looked really good on you, but so does the brown. They're just so different. I definitely like the shorter cut, but the last picture with it not behind your ears. Very cute! |
You look lovely in all photos. I prefer the darker cut, really choppy and you have lovely colour eyes! |
I like both hair lengths and colours, but I think that the dark hair is younger -looking! Your eyes are really beautiful! |

Actually, I think this is the first time I've ever posted a picture of myself... |
I like the 3rd picture best. Now that you mentioned the highlights, I can see them in the last picture.
I have gone to a similar style, and have had it for several years now. I also have a base color close to my natural color and I have very little in the roots department that shows through as it grows. |
I think I like the last one the best. I definitely like the blond, too though. It's a nice shade-- not too brassy but not too ashy either. Too ashy definitely ages. I had to have a talk with my mom about how ashy her hair had become just yesterday, as a matter of fact. I'm encouraging low-lights for my mom. |

Me too!!!! |
I LOVE the new look! It frames your face beautifully, and the darker hair REALLY makes the blue of your eyes Pop! You look so pretty! |
Love the new look, your giving me inspiration to chop and modernise my do. The colour is lovely too |
I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I was always very picky about my highlights just for that reason. Lisa ( my stylist) always put something called Titanium on after the weave. It cut the brassiness. She only left it on a minute, or, then I had the ash thing going on... Lowlights are the answer. One reason I went dark was my skin tone. As I age, I feel like I am all the same color. Hair, face... Summer was fine, but in the winter I was a big pale cotton ball, with Merlot lips. |
I think the new look is very stylish and attractive. It has more pizazz. You look terrific in both but I like the new look better. |
It looks nice blond, but I prefer the darker. Your eyes are stunning |
I love the cut...in fact...I HAVE ALMOST THE SAME CUT!!!! You look great. But if I had the coloring to be a blonde, I would be. So, I vote for the new cut, and blonde (was that an option?) |
I bet we were a bunch of help since it's about 50 50 with both haircuts. That just tells you that you can pull anything off |
I like the shorter cut but you are truly pretty either way and you have the most beautiful eyes.
I like the darker hair and maybe in the summer go just a little lighter like with a carmel highlight |

Could be |
As a hairstylist the cut looks great. As we age we get gray hair and our face also loss pigment.(plus those wrinkles we all get) so when we go darker color it shows EVERYTHING. All you need to do is going into more highlights you can keep the dark or a shade lighter but do highlights and I bet you love it. |
