So, they have offered to have him neutered and microchipped before he comes to us. He'll be joining our family the weekend of Jan. 31st. He's really beautiful, but to be honest, I would have prefered one of the browner ones. But this boy has stolen Tony's heart, and I suspect, once I meet him, he'll own mine as well. He already weighs about 16 pounds. Big boy...I like that! Maine Coons get big. So, drum roll, please without further ado...here's Gordon! |

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the orange cats I've known have been sweeter than any other cat! Plus, that's awesome you don' t have to deal with a kitten. ...always having to stop a prissy queen from jumping on this, that, and wondering what it's doing at night? |
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE maine coons... just gorgeous and couldn't be sweeter
Congrats! |
Yeah Deb!!!!! Congrats! Are you going to keep his name?
He's beautiful and I love Maine Coons too. Sigh, I'll have to break the news to Lenny that he's not going to a new home in Chicago... |

Right now his name is MC...I don't like that. It reminds me of MC Hammer. We're going to name him Gordon, cuz he looks like Gordon Ramsey! |
Gordon is beautiful! Congrats on your great new kitty. |
Hello Gordon!!!!!!!!!!
welcome!!! |
Congratulations. He looks really cuddly. |
Congrats Deb!!! he is beautiful, You will love the Maine Coon,
I have owned 3 MC, 2 silver tabbies (Zeke and Riley) and a Red (Fergus)like your Gordon.. they are full of personality, love to chatter, get to be big and sturdy and loveeeeeeeeeeee the water. You will enjoy him. |
He's much handsomer than Gordon Ramsey, and I'm sure much nicer. Tony understands that this is HIS cat, right????? And that he gets to take all sorts of care of Gordon. Congrats on your new addition! |
He's gorgeous!! I love Maine Coons, too. They're great cats and so beautiful!! Congratulations!
I've never had a pure bred cat of any kind. I always get muts & strays. But, if I ever do get one, I'd like to have a Maine Coon. |

Yes, he is handsomer...but they have the coloring....and Tony wants to hear him call the dogs...donkeys! And no, Tony insists Gordon is my birthday present. Which is fine, cuz Tony has always done litter box duty, anyways. |
Welcome Gordon. |
Welcome Gordon!
I can't wait to see more pictures of him. Hopefully we don't have to wait as long as we did with Lizzie! My 1st time seeing a Maine Coon was when I was a young teen, and I was ssoooo impressed. Someone who was buying one of our Brittany pups had one, and brought him with when they came to pick out their puppy. I had never seen a cat that huge! |
Congratulations Gordon on landing in what sounds like a super home |
Hi Deb,
Congratulations from the cat lover on an OES forum! Maine Coons are a great breed, fairly low maintenance, intelligent and super personalities. Please remember that the same rules apply to getting a purebred cat as to getting a purebred dog. Check the breeder out! Maine Coons have few health and temperament issues, but you want to make sure the breeder is reputable. PM me if you would like me to check them out. I have been breeding and showing Himalayan cats since I was in my early teens. Best of luck with Gordon and I suspect very shortly he will be a sheepies best friend. Kathie |
Yay Deb, I'm so happy for you. All the MC's I've met were the most gorgeous big love bugs. He will worm his way into your heart faster than you can say "welcome Gordan".
After your last post re missing out on a cat I was thinking about your hubby. I think he must be a real sweetheart and you are obviously very close 'cause he knew before you did that you should have another cat. All the best with your new boy. |
Congrats, Deb, on getting Gordon. He's one beautiful boy and I'm sure he'll make an excellent addition to your home. I have a few friends who have Maine Coons and they all can't say enough about them. Yippee!! |
very cute good luck you will get him on duffys first birthday post some pics |
Very cool! I love cats - but I've never met a Maine Coon cat. Now I'm curious, you'll have to tell us all about him ... and more pics too, right? yay! |
Hello To Gordo!!! I know it's Gordon... but my son's friend is Gordon and we always call him Gordo... so it's a habit!!
I love kitty's. I have had cats all my life. my parents didn't get a dog till I was 10... so cats have always been around anywhere I was. I am glad you got another one. Our neighbors had MC's... they are huge!! and fantastic. I can't wait to see more pics when he gets home. |
Aw! I want to come to Animal Kingdom! |
