You can put anything over it. I just had some leftover along with the red beans part of red beans and rice. It was fine. Chicken or beef slop, er stew or chicken a la king type stuff would be fine. Just about anyplace you'd use noodles.
You could mix it with tuna or chicken and stuff it into a tomato......if it were summer. If it has no other flavor you can mix it with vanilla pudding for a weird "rice" pudding. I use it like bulghur in making taboleh salad. If all fails, if your guys like wheat, it's dog food. ( more times than I care to admit I've purchased couscous instead of bulgur for taboleh) |
what i did with my leftovers.....
made a lettuce salad seared tuna cubed lime vinegrette dressing... cous cous add all together...... |
Mmm, Darcy, that one sounds good. Although it's fish, so adding fish to something that Cam already isn't crazy about isn't going to win him over! It'll win me over, though
So, I made stuffed tomatoes. And they were yummy. I sauteed some spinach and added it to the couscous and mixed in some pineapple salsa. I put some parm on top and baked at 400 for maybe 30 minutes. |
Giada on the cooking channel did CouCous cakes, add and egg and some herbs and such, form them into little cakes and pan fry them. looked good, you can get on the cooking channel website and see if you can find it... |
