It's been 4 mths now since we adopted our second sheepie. He has turned into the most lovable, sweet marshmellow of a dog except for when it comes to our first sheepie Gracie. They went through the normal growling and staying away from ea. other, then they went through this whole "fighting" phase (play fighting like they enjoyed ea. others company), but now buckley just tries to heard gracie everywhere she goes, she gets mad and growls, and the first chance she gets- runs off to her hiding spot (between the toilet and the tub in a very small bathroom!) Gracie is a VERY laid back, easy going, sheepie and buckley's still a puppy (he's 16 mths). I guess what I'm asking is, will he ever grow out of it? and how long has it taken you folks with multiple sheepies to have more consistant harmony? It's like Gracie just tolerates him because she has to, but Buckley wants to be involved in EVERY aspect of Gracie's life- Any comments/advice? Thanks! Brent, Cindy, & the Monsters |

I have the same problem with Bunker and my Mom and Dads' Dog. Casey is 8 years old Griffon/Blue Heeler Cross, all Bunker does when we are there is follow Casey around and do everything she does. (Needless to say Bunker has picked up some very bad habits). Casey tolerates Bunker for so long and then she will growl or snap and Bunker backs off.
Just leave them and Barkley will eventually figure out the Gracie has had enough. He will out grow it. |
