It is in a pump form that I think I might like better than breaking the capuls. Does any one use this? Or have another fish oil liquid supplement that you like. Thanks |

I use the human ones. The brand is Spring Valley most of the time - they are from Walmart. occasionally I pick them up at Walgreens - whatever their store brand is.
Why are you breaking them open? Just curious - never heard of anyone doing that. I put them on the dog food in their dishes and they all eat them right up. Even Riley the rat terrier just gulps it down. |
Rastus and Tiggy like to chew theirs up. It really funny to watch them both chewing away. Kind of like shorted lived chewing gum for dogs. |
We break them because that was the instruction from the vet - I did not really question why.
So - do you get results if you don't? I have to say I can tell the coat is better with the fish oil and the dogs love the stuff. |
Dont know why your vet said to break them, unless its for better absorption but as mine chew theirs up that's not a problem.
And yes it does help their coat but also I have a dalmatian and it helps prevent his dermatitis. |

Mine really didn't have any big issues before I used it. I just thought it would be good for their skin and coats, heart and the omega 3's wouldn't hurt either. They do all have really nice coats - the short haired ones are nice and shiny. I also used to alternate the fish oil with flaxseed oil (every other bottle), but lately have just been using the fish. |
Maybe the particular capsules in this case don't have gelatine skins? |
We use the Grizzly Salmon Oil few times a week.. |
I use gel capsules as well (salmon oil) and I just toss them on top of their food. If I thought I had to break them up I'd go with a pump bottle as well - ugh! Messy!
Please do let us know why your vet feels they need to be broken up. Kristine |
My vet also suggested fish oil for the health benefits.......just as with humans. |
I use an Omega 3-6-9 fish oil combo gel capsule. I just toss it on top of his food & he gobbles it up. |
