I feel Obe jump on the bed and lay down, he goes to sleep no big deal. Wakes up around 7:30 I get up blah, blah, blah. Just went back into the bedroom and glanced down at the comforter. I have dried muddy paw prints, some look like streaks where he slid his paw, maybe getting comfortable, who knows. I do know that I'm now washing the comforter today. Thanks Obe, love you too. |

A white comforter? With a dog? LOL. You're funny. |

The only white thing I have is the sheet that covers the couch so I don't get muddy prints on it. That gets washed about once a week. |
Oh, that stinks. Time for a good wash! We have a pure white comforter and don't have any problems. It's the black shedding cats that have to stay off!! |
Sorry, I have to echo that sentiment...
WHITE??????? Really? I have NOTHING white in my house below ceiling level. I have dogs. I own no white dressy clothes. I teach seven year olds. That pretty much means the colour white is for other people, not for me. Now, I love mottled grey things, and houndstooth patterns, and recently turned down the coat of my dreams as it would show fur AND muddy pawprints. Instead....grey houndstooth. I've accepted my fate. I've heard stories (legends really) about people who own white things and have dogs. I never really believed they were real...I guess the world really is a marvelous and miraculous place. |
No white for me either!
Your boy had to get his feet dry and warm so he could go back to sleep. |
I had the comforter and brown duvet at one time, both before Obe came a long. 1st year duvet was ruined, now he's going for comforter. |
I think it's time for another duvet cover over the comforter. You can even sew two sheets together leaving an open end and ties. Lucky Obe, nice to snuggle down early in the a.m. |

I'm with you, Jill!!!! I take it a step further; buy yourself a comforter cover; its easier to wash those than the whole comforter! |
we have a white comforter - but we cover it with a large quilt (until cedric ate it) and now a large - durable piece of fabric. |
I like white. I love bleach |

I think I married the man that was supposed to be your husband Bobby does laundry before we have a full load and loves bleach. Don't get me wrong I like nice bright whites but all the bleach is eating the whites! |

I have a large beautiful all glass sunroom, but the previous owners installed WHITE carpeting. You can imagine, it is now light mud color with a multitude of paw prints. Patch is out there now sleeping, she has loved that room from day one. I have finally found the slate I like so it will soon be an indestructible stone floor with a new huge comfy dog bed. No white comforters in this house. |
We have lots of white stuff. I do lots of cleaning |
You guys have better water than I do! Bleach turns my whites yellow as it causes the iron to precipitate out. Lucky you! |

No, same water here. I just have a REAL GOOD softener!!! |
Bleach....what about detergent with bleach? Not the same I bet. How much bleach per load? |
shon wrote: Bleach....what about detergent with bleach? Not the same I bet. How much bleach per load?
No, the detergent with bleach isn't near the same. I would go with the directions on the bleach bottle. I just pour it right into the machine - I measure by load size, and my unit of measure is the "glug, glug" system. How many glugs out of the bottle, depending on the load size and what exactly I am washing. |
Hense that is why I LOVE duvet covers. Or an old sheep on top of my down comforters. Great story, sounds like our house. |
