We took him to Kanas State University Vet Clinic for an assessment, and they quoted us "approximately" 800 dollars for both eyes. I was a little shocked at the price, given they would do both eyes at one, and wouldn't even have to sedate him fully since he is so docile. I realize vets vary in prices, but does this seem steep to anyone else? We are getting other "quotes" from local vets (our vet does not do the surgery), but just curious what we should expect to pay. Not having the surgery is NOT an option. |

I don't know if that is high or not... but seems that you could call a few vets in the area and ask what they'd charge for the same procedure.
I'm so sorry that you and Oliver have to go through all of this. |
I am going through the same thing with Sprocket right now. He has entropy in only one eye, but my vet quoted me at about $600. I thought it seemed high, but I called around to other vets in my area and they all quoted me between $500-$700. |
No, for surgery these days that's about right......price break for little or no anesthesia and both eyes at same time. They will still have to numb the area, blood tests?? before hand. There's $200 right there.
The cheap country vet is gone......... |
Sorry no help with pricing but wishing the best for Oliver and a speedy recovery. |
I called another trusted vet, and he told me 260-300 for both, and extra 50 for the pre-surgery blood panel. So 350 isn't that bad. Good to know. Thanks so much for the info! I'm nervous for the surgery, but excited for Oliver. |
