First - called her upstairs. She came right up with no hesitation. Second - shut the bedroom door behind her so she couldn't escape. Wouldn't have had to - she was calm as can be. Third - called her into the bathroom and shut the door behind her again. Again, cool as a cucumber. Fourth - opened the shower door and asked her to go in. And she actually did go in, even before me!! No pushing, no pulling - just in she walked. She stood perfectly still for the bath, all through the wetting down, lathering up and scrubbing, and rinsing off. Kept her head up when I held my hand under her chin, didnt' fight to put her feet back down when I lifted them. I just couldn't believe how good she was!! Dried her off as best as I could in the shower, then let her out but still in the bathroom. Dried her off better there, then let her out in the bedroom. Still cool, calm and collected. WHAT? No running in circles? No rubbing her head on the bed, furniture, walls, floor? Final test - opened the bedroom door. She walked back downstairs as if nothing had happened. WHAT? No running like a wild boar down, then back up, then back down, then back up a million times?? No spinning around in circles? No grumbling, no barking, no growling?? Didn't give her the FINAL final test - the hair dryer. I don't have a dog dryer because Drez would FREAK if you pointed air in her direction. So I was just going to try my own dryer. I know she would have been okay, because I have tried pointing it at her when I use it for myself, and she's fine with it. But I got busy so just let her air dry. REALLY? A dog that actually doesn't mind all this?? WOW! And at the same time - YIPPEE!!! |

LOL. Aren't those kind of things the kind of things that make you so happy, too? It's just one more thing you don't have to ever stress about again!
Clyde only seems to improve with age and he was never bad. My worst complaint with him is that he would hang his head over the edge of the tub. He doesn't even do that anymore. Owen is really good, too. Lucy was probably my most resistant. |
...well what great luck you have finding Sammie. Glad it went well. |
WOW how'd you do that!!!! I have been wanting to give Snowy a bath. I keep putting it off. The dryer thing. She likes to go out often and its 17 degrees.
GOOD GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
YAY SAMMIE!! Bath time is FUN!!
The wigglebums are great for baths, too. It sure does make life a lot easier when they actually enjoy it and don't fight you over it. |
Ok you need to come here and show Summer what to do!
ps. Tammy yours was my hubbys fave card, I think he was looking at you not the dogs! |
Yay, Sammie!!!
She didn't mind the dryer when she camped out here. I have a Double K Airmax and she tolerated it quite well so a people hair dryer shouldn't be a problem. She's just a great little sheepie girl. (BTW, glad the "shock" you were in was the GOOD kind!) |
Of course she was good, she has Angel Sweetie written all over her darling pretty expression.
Good girl Sammie for showing mommy bath time can be wonderfull. Sammie you need to have a good woofing to, to my 2 little monsters I am the one that ends up with the bath, more wet then what they get!!!! |
Henry says he'll have some of whatever Sammie's having that make bathtime sooo much fun!?! |
Way to go Sammie. I love the curls that appear after they air dry. Wish they would not turn to mats. |
AWWW!!!!! GOOD GIRL...Sammie!!!!
