I was brushing him this evening and still getting lots of hair off him. I have hair all over the house and of coarse on me. Simon is 2.6years old and I thought with the last trim we were through with it. Does this take more time? |

I have a girl that I am showing that just turned 3 years old a few days ago. I mentioned about 2 weeks ago to my breeder friend that I thought FINALLY she was done changing coat & had her adult coat in. Texture is much better, undercoat is much more abundant that before & she is not matting or knotting as fast as before. So the answer is yes........it can take a LONG time. |
That explains it. I was going to mask the same question. same age and everything. |
So at 16 months I have more to look forward to???? |

Oh, yes, most likely so. Sorry Mace is mostly through hers, but Sybil is still in the final throes, oh glory be, and they'll be three in April. Their mom's coat didn't fully change until she was almost three as well. The boy dog's coat has already changed, but he's been shaved so many times there were no real transitions to deal with. The good news is that the last transition is nowhere near as hideous as previous ones to get through. Kristine |

Most of mine have been done before 3 years of age but this last girl that I am showing now, just turned 3 the end of December & I said about 2 weeks before that "I think you finally have all of your adult coat in"!. My boy was shaved at least 4 times before I started showing him so there was no real coat change to deal with there. |
