She's 11 months now, and she's a fairly normal size for an OES (she's passed out beside the couch right now, or I'd measure her height- but I do know that she's 62 pounds). Her dad was oversize, so we don't want to take her off too early, but because she's almost a year now, we're wondering if it's time to wean her off of it. Thanks! Andrea |

I don't see why not. Change to adult. How much do you feed per day? |
Start weaning her onto a Large breed Adult kibble as she is passed that rapid growth stage and just maturing more and filling out. So no need for the puppy growth one now. |
Thanks, that's good advice. We'll wean her off at the end of this bag of food. We had been giving her 3 to 4 cups a day, but lately she hasn't been finishing it, so about 2 cups on some days (especially when it's cold and she chooses to sleep all day!). She's not an over eater, so we could give her 10 cups a day and she'd only eat a few cups. I wish I were like that with food!! But when we don't give her enough, we hear about it, as she carries her food dish over to the living room and drops it in the middle of the room and then just sits and stares at us. Funny pup.
I never thought of the fact that she's past the rapid growth stage-one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments. lol, oh well, that's why we're here for each other right? Thanks again! |
