The new crate came today. I am very pleased with the door. I am very pleased with the mesh siding. There is no way that he can reach through it. Hopefully that means that my remaining wardrobe will remain intact. He tore up my "fat" jeans last week. (those are the jeans I wear when I feel fat) I left them in there because they smell like me. I guess that's a hint? So...tonight we are pacticing... Kt: Dudley, get in the pen. Duds: <panting, goes in the crate> Gimme the treat!! Kt: Good boy! So we'll see what happens next...this is crate #4. The score: Dudley, 3 the crates, 0 |

Stay with it Katie! You and Duds are meant to be together! I hope you are able to keep up with the exercise - with the weather that we're getting here in the East.

Good news Katie, please let us know how he fares with his new "den" |
I came home today at lunch, and we played ball in the snow for about 20 minutes. He started getting snow stuck to his legs, and in between his toes, and I caught him limping a little bit after he was done jumping around....he didn't want to play ball after work today, so we worked on crating instead... |
Thanks to someone on the forum, I found a way to get Sam to her crate. Instead of saying go to the crate (which sounds to me so cold and univiting), I now tell her to "go to her room" and she does! But she gets a treat too . |
Ahh I missed reading your post and trial and tribulations with crating. Can't offer any advice as I've never it before but just wanted to wish you and Dudley all the luck! Best wishes to you both and hang in there!

So far, so good. There is a door on the bottom where the tray slides out, so I had to clip it shut. No damage or poopies in the crate this week. He gets a kong in there with him in the morning. He *does* make a bit more noise in the new crate. If I don't put the bark collar on him, he'll start barking his head off as soon as I close the front door. sigh... In other news, I bought a swiffer this week. It's great at picking up those tumbleweeds that hide in the corners. |
