The reason your pic doesn't appear is... we only allow images that are uploaded onto the server to appear. It's to protect everyone in a sense, and to make sure hackers don't put inappropriate pictures on the site At the bottom right, there's a pictures tab ....followed by a link at the top that says "upload picture." Hope you add a bunch more and stay to chat with us. |
Did the double dews get carried over into this pup? Adorable face! Should be interesting come shed season................hope he's not like Glacier, no shed, gotta pull it out. |
Yes, he does have double dew claws!
I'm very interested to see how his coat develops - I really am not sure what it will do. For the life of me, it looks like a different coat in different "blotches" of his body. I am already trying to figure out the ear mat thing. Personality-wise, it's very interesting to have a cross ... he definitely does not have a Pyr personality! He whines more than a Pyr, and is more aggressive about everything, from stealing food to chewing up gloves. Pyrs have that quiet, calm demeanor about them, while Grover is much higher energy. But, he is incredibly sweet and would love to be a lap dog if he could. He seems to be picking up the guarding instinct, it helps that we have an old Pyr to train the pups. He definitely herds, as well. I remember reading somewhere that OES were developed to be dual-purpose guard/herd dogs a century or so back? Thanks for the photo info - I put some files up. |
If he wants to stay out all night and bark, his Pyrness is coming through
I tend to think of OES as drovers not so much as guardians. It's a curious mix and not one I'd trust. OES work up close, Pyrs tend to work away from the flock. Are you working livestock with this one? You might want to shave behind the ears. That cotton is going to be trouble at least until the adult hair comes in. Noticed the wheel in the tail........good to see. He's right handed....er, tailed. Any sign of color coming in? Of course he has leopard skin, they both do, but any signs of darkness below? Glacier has several areas that are white but the undercoat is dark. She also has a fair amount of buscuit coloring if you look carefully. |
welcome i also had a oes /pyr mix derby one great dog |
