Today is the day
I'm a bit nervous, as you can imagine. She seems "better" than 3 months ago . . . . But when I got home from work on Saturday I found her at the bottom of the basement stairs, with the gate on top of her, looking quite confused. I've no idea what happened, she's never shown any interest in going downstairs. The gate is just propped up at the bottom to keep Kayli out since she decided it was a good place to pee. (At least she used the tile floor, about a foot from the drain, LOL.) So I'm thinking she took a tumble and knocked the gate over, but she was laying down in a normal position. Maybe she just decided to investigate on her own and didn't know what to do when she got to the gate? Very odd. I give her credit, though - once I removed the gate and helped her up she refused to go back up until she thoroughly investigated the one part of the house she still hadn't seen. It was a long trek back up, with me helping her, and she's been moving fine since. We even went for a walk in the snow and I had to make her stop trying to trudge through the unshoveled spots. From what I can gather, the longest she could have been there is a couple hours, since the neighbor had come in to open the garage door to get my snow blower and both girls where at the top of the stairs. Anyhoo, today is the day we find out if Belle's heart is still failing. I've avoided thinking about this until I just typed that and now I'm going to be a wreck all day. Jil |
