I am new to these forums but have been an avid OES fan for many years (since i was a kid). Anyway, I am wondering if anybody in OES cyberspace knows of any rescue organisations of OES in Melbourne? It's difficult to even find the names of breeders near my home. My partner and I are going to buy an OES in the next few months (hopefully) if we can find somewhere to buy one, of course. Thanks. Welcome!
We have forum members from Melbourne, so hopefully you'll get to know some neighbors who can help get you connected. Register! It's adds a few features, it is free, safe and we usually don't bite. |
Hi Wooly Mammoth, please do join.I am in Qld but there are some Vics here too. They are all really helpful.Have you joined the OES Club of Vic?I havent looked for their website, but the OESC of NSW actually lists OES needing rehoming on their site.I missed out on a couple they had ,too late, but the cost of flying the dogs interstate was quite reasonable,I looked into it with 2 companies.
The club magazines used to list litters,I dont know if they still do,but they have the breeders lists anyway. As does the C.C.C. Good luck and keep us updated. Lynzi |
I found it,go here and theres a rescue persons email addy and phone number.

Hi all,
Thanks for your comments and help. I will indeed email the lady from the Vic OES club re: membership and puppies. It's not often i see OES being walked on the streets so it's quite hard to find information about where to buy one. So, thanks! I will keep you all posted on my journey to OES ownership, or - being owned by an OES. Can't wait! Woolly Mammoth |
welcome from Sydney |
Hi,
I'm in Melb. The Vic OES rescue just found a new home for a nearly one year old boy 2 months ago. So definitely keep in touch with them. They have obedience mornings every 2 weeks for members too, so come along. NSW do rescue www.freewebs.com/oldenglishsheepdogclub/olderoes.htm but maybe they all keep in contact. Lisa will be able to tell you all about it as she is a very experienced OES person here in Melbourne. I havent seen her on the forum over Christmas but no doubt she'll be back. Mim |
Contact Denise Findlay on the above link that Lynzoes posted. She is resucue/rehousing co-ordinator and also does the puppy list for the club as well.
There was a litter 4 weeks ago of 11 OES babes not sure if they are all homed yet as the club was holding quite a big waiting list but if you are interested in a puppy then Denise can give you more information on that or what is coming up as far as litters in the New Year. I don't think there is any rescue/rehousing OES available at the moment, but enquire with Denise. Best wishes and if you need additional information, please feel free to PM me through the forum with any questions or queries.. |
