It's going down below minus forty degrees (C) with the windchill at night, so we are all a little stir crazy. Portage (our almost eleven year old) has to be dragged out and squeezed in this weather, and he still tries to hold it in, so we've had some carpet jeopardizing moments these last few weeks. (Thank goodness for steam cleaners!) Hudson LOVES being outside in sub arctic weather, and keeps scratching to go out, then he digs for a bit and lays happily in the deep snow. Today I went out (furious, in my socks) and tromped over to drag him in...and finally found out what he digs for, and happily eats. He's digging down to old pee spots, breaking up the ice, and eating his very own homemade "lemon pupsicles." GROSS And, once I got him in and locked him upstairs (away from all outside facing doors), I went to retrieve Portage from the main floor. He's standing in the dining room, trying frantically to eat the evidence. Yep, the poops he's been withholding made their debut on my carpet, but he figures if he eats them all up I'll NEVER KNOW. Gee, the fog of putrid poostench permeating the house would NEVER have tipped me off. I love my dogs. I love my dogs. I love my dogs....I love my dogs..............(teeth clenched). ho ho ho. |

LOL and gross! At least you have a sense of humor about it! My dog shares your dog's love for being outside in the freezing cold. I have to drag her in from my deck most nights. |
Owen's been bringing in "fudgcicles" so he lost the little freedom that he had to play alone with the big boys for short periods. I can watch them through the window but there's a couple of blind spots and, of course, that's where he finds the poo! |
That's just foul but funny. He should market those lemon pupsicles. |
LOL Portage Quote: has to be dragged out and squeezed in this weather, Quote: Yep, the poops he's been withholding made their debut on my carpet, but he figures if he eats them all up I'll NEVER KNOW.
I am rolling. I got a mental image of a sheepie with this habit by the end of winter. After all its gotta come out and stay out, he cant just keep recycling till spring, he'll explode. I must say being lover of the warn weather I totally understand why he'd want to stay inside. Luckily you have a sense of humour. |
My 2 beagles LOVE to go and find the poop! YUCK BAD BREATH. I don't know how to stop it GRRRRR. On the other hand thanks God Snowy does not. but she is hard to get in after being out in the snow. She loves it. I know have a bjg wet spot on my bed. So I have to keep the door closed till she "defrosts" LOL |
yuck, summer does that and then comes and breathes on you! |
Tracie, I am so sorry, but I am laughing hysterically as I am reading this. After reading stories like this it just reaffirms to me why I always leash walk Jenny and she never gets in the yard without supervision. |
As I sit at my computer I can hear my husband screaming in the backyard. He went out (in dangerous windchills, no jacket, just pjs) to supervise both dogs. Apparently they both ran in opposite directions.
Hudson grabbed the yellow frozen treats, and Portage snagged the more, um, chocolately variety... He's screaming at both, but turning in opposite directions to do so...heh heh heh. Nice to see someone else have a turn. Oops, better hide the screen. Here he comes, covered with snow. Funny the DOGS sure look happy. Can't say the same for him. I think I'll stay up for a while...no sense in talking to him now... tee hee. |
And then they wonder why we avoid their breath..............I hope Jack doesn't discover yellow snow.........his truffle munching is bad enough. |
OH NO.....
Yucky for you! (but funny for us!) Thanks for giving me a giggle this morning! I needed it! |
yes thats funny so maybe that what moon ray has been doing. Because his breath shure is stinking lately LOL the dogs or so funny to watch in the snow slipping and sliding and still trying to run. I know moon ray has been loving the iced tree branches to. |
