I actually like this storm. It was kind and didn't start until midnight last night. It's quite beautiful outside, and very Christmasy. If you're in a storm today, drive carefully, and notice, really notice the beauty of mother nature's work. |
|
this is the same storm we are palnning on getting in the middle of the day today. they say 1-2" of snow an hour. the drive home will not be pleasant. |
I hate you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may reach 80 here today!!!!!!!!!! Then a cold front comes in Sunday ...pulling the temp down to 54. I was thinking of sitting outside and getting a tan today. |
I have MUD MUD MUD |

We are getting that storm now, upstate NY 6-10 today and the next storm is Sunday. They already closed the schools so they don't have to send them home during the storm. YUCK!!!!!! Snowy is living up to her name. She loves it out in the snow. Plays like a puppy. LOL She is such a great OES. Makes me laugh all the time. It is almost a white out now.
I hope they let Richard go early today. The driving will be awful later. I ran out last night to make sure we would have what we need for the week-end |
It sounds beautiful, post some pics!! You are welcome to it though, I'm enjoying our sunshine even though it's only 2-3 degrees out.
Deb, I'm loving your posts recently.. thank you! |
I'm so thankful we dodged the ice that was predicted earlier this week. It's still snowing but supposed to stop around noon. I do love snow at night--the stillness is eerie but awesome. Deborah, the roads will be clear tomorrow so lunch is full steam ahead! |
Same snow here, there's at least 6" on the ground so far and it's still coming down. |
the best time to watch snow falling is at night.....
the snow is crunchy, the wind whispering thru the empty tree branches, the pinching of the cold on your cheeks...and the quiet...the peace and beauty of all that soft quiet..... i dont miss the cold of it all, but i do miss that....... |
AAGGGHHH.... The storm is on it's way here now! I can see the snow coming down as I type, it just started within the last 1/2 hour or so. I just noticed on the news they are sending the kids home from school at noon today....
GLAD I have no place to go tonight!! |
ooo its started - I am leaving work early and baking this afternoon - I may actually get some christmas decorations up too (well like they say when life hands you lemons...)
I think I'll wait for the real skittish drivers to leave first though. |
Well, its mostly stopped here...for now. We got 12+ inches. Hard to tell because its blowing and drifting. Randy spent 2hrs cleaning just the driveway. Dogs are loving it even if they have to bunny hop to get through it. Glad I didn't have to work today. I would have had to leave at least an hour early to get there. Gotta love 4wheel drive. |

Ours is wrapping up now, too. I think we probably have about 10 inches, but I'm unsure. I wanna snow day |
I got 8-10" depending on the drifts. Right now I'm watching Neighbor Bill use my snow blower on my driveway. I love Neighbor Bill.
Molly is having a blast in the snow while Bentley is being a fuddy duddy. The snow is balled up on her feet, but not on Bentley's of course. Snow wouldn't DARE ball up on Mr. Scotchgard's feet! After a cookie exchange I'm going to tonight, I'm looking forward to a nice cozy weekend at home snuggled up with Molly. Boo isn't much of a snuggler, but this girl LIVES to be cuddled. And to race around the yard like a maniac, LOL. |
We got robbed!
It drifted just south of us and we only got about 4 inches. Go 20 miles south and they got 8"!!! It is beautiful - all fluffy and temps are warm - in the low 20's. A perfect winter day. I see it already is out to NY - fast moving. It went thru here in the middle of the night. The next one is supposed to start here sometime this evening - get ready! |
I love it! We work for a university so SNOW DAY! Even better? I'm off work now until January 5. Woohoo! Plus we have all wheel drive cars so we're not snowbound at all.
I'm about to post some pictures of some dogs having the best time ever, too! |
Bah Humbug!! I would trade you this sunny & 70 degree day we're having for your 8"-10" of snow!!
lucky ducks!! |

We have tons of snow already and now add 12 inches and its TOO MUCH of a good thing. Saturday night will bring another 3-5 inches and who knows what Tuesday will bring. Tammy, come on up...we have extra shovels. On an up note..I was talking to my neighbor and she told me that she was standing in her window watching the dogs and laughing because they were having so much fun. |
Saw on the news last night Snow in Las Vegas in the Dessert The strip look so different with all the neon stuff and snow cover. |

sure - just let me know when you've worked out the details |
Reading all of your post have brought back so many memories. I now feel cold, so I guess I'll go get my beach chair and go outside in the sun and look at all my great OES Christmas cards!
Enjoy the snow! |

Enjoy the snow! Hey Now! That was just plain mean!!!! |
The latest one just is clearing MN, and well into WI.
Crazy me decided a shopping trip to IKEA was the thing to do, so the usual 1.5 hr drive on the interstate ended up taking 2.5 hrs up and 2 hrs home. Travis's GF Nicole rode with me - poor girl was petrified!! We counted cars in the ditch on the way home - there were 24. Guessing about the same on the way up...... LeAnne, Keith and baby Will met us for lunch and shopping, so we had a good visit. Now the temp is dropping and the wind is whipping up all that new show. Guess I am staying home the rest of the weekend. The temp is supposed to be a high of -2F tomorrow with high winds making the windchill in the -30F range . Darn, no sledding training for us. Todd, son Travis and Todd's brother and one of his sons are up in northern MN ice fishing - they left at 6:30A and were on the ice by this afternoon. Yep, we are crazy! |
Pam - I can shovel. At least I think I can. LOL I've never actually tried to shovel snow.
Kerry - If only I could work it out. I'd trade you and you'd have a warm Christmas and I'd get a foot of snow. |
Ugh, we're snowed in!
They came and plowed our side street last night and pushed the snow right into my car, now I have about 2 feet of ice surrounding my car. |
More snow for us too! At least it has warmed up from -18! The plow leaves snow in my driveway, the only one at my end of the crescent!. I will shovel later. It feels like an alpine village as we're on th eside of a mountain. Also, my garage door froze open yesterday afternoon, but after initial panic, I got it closed. |
