Who doesn't love to eat these?!! 1C semi sweet chocolate w/T of shortening (better for melting/consistency) pretzels any sprinkles same with white chocolate. dip, sprinkle, put in fridge! ...and of course, you can make chocolate turtles that are just as easy! http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=18147 |

OOOOOh, I love me some chocolate covered pretzels. White or milk or semi-sweet, doesn't matter.
Another pretzel/chocolate combo is take pretzel rings (kinda hard to find, but I think Rold Gold still makes them), place the rings on a cookie sheet and put a Rolo candy in the center. Bake at 325 for about 5 minutes (or until the Rolo is squishy). Take out of the oven and press the Rolo to fill the entire center, then place a pecan half on the smished Rolo. Put in icebox until firm. Make double cuz you know you're going to eat a bunch by yourself! |
Love them! |
I make them using pretzel rods. I warm up a carmel square, and roll it like a playdoh snake. I wrap it about half-way around the pretzel, then dip in chocolate and drizzle it with the alternating colored chocolate (dip in white, drizzle in chocolate and vice versa) They're really great! My hubby loves chocolate pretzels. |
Great idea, I wish I saw this yesterday ! had to bake cookies last night for my daughter's bake sale at school ...I'll keep this in mind for the next bake sale (have 3 kids).
Thank you for sharing this yummy treat |
I just HAD to buy the stuff today......couldn't resist! |
I made these on Sunday during our annual candy making day. THey didn't look as pretty as yours though. |
Since I am the WORST at creativity, I doubt it!! Rods are fool proof, but so hard to find here. As a matter of fact, I tried looking for them again today. Instead, I ended up with more normal pretzels.
I'm making the chocolate turtles sunday for mil. Replacing the pecan on top of half of them with m&m's (for the men). I can't do rolo's on top of pretzels ...imo, they turn out too chewy (hard chewy) once they've melted down a bit, so it's always dove caramel chocolates for our home! |
ooh, I bet the skinny pretzel sticks would be good making this. I don't make any of this stuff, otherwise I'd eat it. |
No skinny ones either. It's because I shop at dang Wal-Mart for most of my stuff. They are always out of stock where I go. |
