It doesn't work for Heart hair...I don't know if her hair is too dense....but my friend used it on her beagle and it did the job!!!! |
Those aren't for an OES coat. |
Furminators are for short haired dogs.
I dont have one but have seen one used on a shedding lab and it was great. |
I don't want to use it on Snowy, It is for the beagles. |
Oh, now I get it. I read "for the beagles too" as being as well as Snowy.
You meant as well as the people on the show. Should be good for Beagles. I've been thinking of getting one for my dalmo. I'm all over white and black hair |

Sorry if I confused you. I know its not for a OES. Just the beagles. |
I use one on my labs and german shepherds just don't work one area too much it will cause skin irritation Regular brushing every day will keep shedding at its lowest. |
No, not for sheepdogs or other long or dense coated dogs. Worked like a charm on Harry to pull out his fluffy undercoat this past summer while leaving the long hair.
On sheepdogs it is almost impossible to use. Won't eve try on Glacier the Pyr. |
My local pet shop recommended one to me!
I said don't be silly it's for dog hair that sheds They seem most put out What I need after Archies river antics is something called a demattinator! |
I don't know how many people have tried to recommend this to me after seeing Laika's coat. Then I have to explain.
But I did get one for my cats recently. They are the ones that leave fur everywhere! Not my big fluffy dog |
i use the furminator on short haired dogs, it works on some long haired dogs but not oes! mainly double coated ones, it dous work well on some breeds, pulls it out no end and alot of groomers rave about them. i had a cross breed yesterday, retriever cross collie but with short hair, heavily moulting and as being new to grooming i tried alsorts just to get a good opinion of my tools, i used a deshedding blade, zoom groom, slicker and the furminator, the furminator was as good as the deshedding blade but much prefered the furminator as it seamed much kinder to the skin. you can also use a 30 to 40 clipper blade to do the same job aparently
this is what groomers think of it on a grooming forum http://www.grooming-rooms.co.uk/cgi-bin ... 21738777/0 |
