i wrote an article a couple of weeks ago and it just hit me.... you guys just might be able to appreciate it! i thought i'd pass it along -- http://ezinearticles.com/?Learning-Time ... id=1746860 it kind of sums up why i'm NOT going to get into the show ring anytime soon |
|
Hey that was good! It really is a big commitment having a sheepie in long coat, luckily I'm really boring and don't have anything further up my list except "teach the dog to stay still while I groom".
I like the showing comments My shaggy dog is my shaggy dog... and this forum I spend too much time here |
thanks!
i doubt that you are "boring" it really just depends on where we mentally list things that we want to do. but when you want to do something well it can't be #1 this week, #8 next week - it just can't yo-yo up and down your list! AND... you are right! for a while there, these forums where my "shaggy dog" too they are so much fun! |
Your article is really good and it pretty much sums it up. Both my shaggy dogs are not so shaggy and I save myself many hours of grooming. They are happy for it and so am I. |
Mine is a shaggy dog & I love it. Yes, I could have more time if he was shaved. That would defeat the purpose of having a big shaggy dog. Besides what would I do with the extra time.....
I could play the guitar, write some songs, clean the house, get in some more snowboarding, spend more time on oes.org, sleep, eat, read, or watch t.v.(not). Those things get done, except t.v. dont watch much. If it snows I'm on the mountain (spoiled it has to be a powder day for me to go). I dont go on weekends! So that gives me time to groom, clean, play guitar. Only problem is I usually groom while having my 2nd & 3rd cup of java. 1st cup is snow report, news and oes.org. I clean daily or at least pick up after some one. I grab the guitar at least once at day, I try and check into the forum and see whats happening with everyone. I definitely sleep, eat and cook so what would I do with the extra time... nothing it would be extra. Sooo, I might as well have a great big shaggy dog named Obe Bear. |
thanks, Simon.
yeah... hours of grooming! but Peeps and i both really liked that time. it was just a struggle to make that time! Shon, you sound like me! minus the skiing - i am afraid of heights. of course you don't watch TV - where would you find the time? besides, the forums are way better than TV. |
