Hi I am from Pocono Lake Animal Hospital, located in Pocono Lake PA. We have in our possession, a 14 year old Old English Sheepdog that needs a home. He is a very sweet dog that deserves a new home. He was dropped off, with his sister for Boarding at our hospital for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The owners never came to pick him up. They avoided contact at all costs. There phone number was disconnected. We were forced to resort to legal action after nearly a $2000.00 Boarding, Neutering, and Grooming bill was not paid. They were surrendered to us. We have been taking care of them ever since. I , as well as several others cannot see this dog spend another day in the kennel. He is such a sweet dog. He gets along well with other dogs, and people. We DO NOT know the history of the dog beyond us having him at our facility. We would like to know if your accepting any more dogs for adoption. He needs a home ASAP. Or we are forced to take him to the ASPCA. Which we know they are a Kill shelter. NONE of us want that. Please contact the hospital at (570) 646-2963 and speak to one of our receptionists. We would greatly appreciate it. Erin Pocono Lake Animal Hospital |

Hi Sue,
Have you been able to get any more info on the poor old guy? Wish it wasn't an 8+ hour drive from here and I'd pop over and bring him here...it would be nice to know if he were heartworm tested. I'd be more than willing to pay for the test if you talk with them....what about his ability to get around? I do a have a built in doggy ramp. ..... see what you can find out and maybe some willing soul would be able to transport. Right now...I'm snowed in and it's still coming down!! : ) |
This breaks my heart! We aren't far at all from Pocono Lake, but Drezzie wouldn't like a doggie roommate at this point. I will keep this poor boy in my prayers that he finds someone who can get him out of the kennel.

hi chris,
do you transport? thanks for the prayers! sue cathy, thank you for wanted this unwanted senior! sue |
Sue,
Did you get in touch with Marian Feil? I know she had wanted to adopt this fella as well - and had actually been to the Animal Hospital to see the dog. Kristen |
i just got word from the wonderful Kaye Fletcher (Heart to Heart) that he's been adopted!!!!!! sue |
Wow!! That's great to hear that a forever home was found!!
Good seeing you back at this site as I miss reading your post. You always provided such invaluable information, hope you see you back more often. I was also wondering if a home was found for the old girl you posted about before Christmas? Hopefully that too ended on a happy note. Marianne and the boys |
hi marian,
yes, i know that NEOSER has found the Pocono boy, "Angel" a home in KC. Kaye & I had a foster home for him in CT & i was going to transport Angel there. NEOSER stepped in & had a home for Angel. Hope he has a WONDERFUL life in KC!!!! Sadly the December dog you referred to did not have such a happy ending. thanks for asking, sue |
I'm so relieved to hear he's found a home!! He deserves to spend whatever time he has left in a loving, caring home. Kudos to all involved!
Chris |
does anyone have an update on this boy? did he make it to his forever home? we had a lot of snow in the east & was wondering if he safely arrived? thanks, sue |
Sue,
NEOESR Photo Gallery has a picture of Angel in his "foster" home (which appears may be his furever home). K.C. & Lisa Armstrong are wonderful people. They just lost their 17 year old OES in the fall! Angel is in good hands! It's nice to know there are so many people who were looking out for him. Kristen |
he looks so "at home"! so, happy to hear he is safe!
thank's for letting me know. sue |
Hoooray!!!!! |
