The puppy she is getting isnt born yet and she wont get it until Feb. My concern with this is she went to the breeders to actually buy a 12 week old yorkie on sunday and the breeders husband had already sold it but was told another litter was due soon and would be ready in Feb. I sure hope this isnt the same mom. I just dont want to see my friend screwed over or hurt by getting an inferior puppy. But you know some warning signs were there for her. Dogs in crates......... dirty tangled fur on the poodles. etc etc so maybe she wont even listen she wants this yorkie so bad |

I have always had yorkies, but am in the UK so not much help Be very careful, my Tilly, I wanted so desperately after having Misty pts at age 17 so just contacted a breeder she had 2 bitches. I said well can I have the larger of the 2. She gave me their birth date I paid a deposit. When we got there 3 hour journey I fell in love with Tilly straight away, her birth date was different? funny? The lady was lovely, house was a mess but she had been ill. I didn't see mother should have asked. I got 30 fleas off Tilly on the way home and a few days later she was really poorly sick and runs. The breeder rang me a couple of weeks later to see if she was Ok and I said she had been ill and the lady apologized. 12 or 18 months later there was an article in the paper the lady had died and her dogs had been kept in filthy dirty conditions in cages. When we introduced Tilly to a crate she cried with joy and loved being caged. The photo in the paper haunted me as I kept thinking they were my Tilly relations. To be honest, touch wood, she is healthy but you do need to be careful.....sorry for long rant |
Google up the website for the Yorkie National Club. I would think they'd have a link to breeder referral. Good place to start looking for a Yorkie. |

I was hoping someone here would have a personal experience and could share. I know some of you have yorkies too. Thanks |
The Yorkie National Club does have a breeder list and there is someone listed right in Mechanicsburg. Here's the link: http://www.ytca.org/breeder4.html
I would have your friend call that lady and see what she has to say. If not, and you want to show her the difference between well bred dogs and BYB dogs then have her come over and see the difference between Carl and Toby and Suzi!! Any place with a name that ends with "puppy tails" doesn't seem like it's a great breeding place. It sounds like marketing for a pet shop. The fact that they just sold a litter and there's another one on the way is a red flag. (You never know, just makes you stop and question.) Where are they located? |
Geez Mandy I think their website happy tails says it all just checking it out, they have "designer dogs" too . I'll give my friend the web address you posted. I think she'll have a better outcome with what you suggest. |
