As I have whinged about this dog here I felt it only fair to say, hey, suddenly the light switched on and she is actually responding to training, will sit before we cross the road, will finally walk nicely on lead, sits at the gate so us humans can walk in first, has stopped running around like a loon, and no longer barks at everything in sight. She is actually good inside too, stays off the sofa(mostly),leaves my teenage son who doesnt enjoy her company strictly alone and "talks" to my daughter and I if she wants something.I am so glad as she was really driving us crazy. My husband is only here weekends and it was getting very uptight and tense waiting for Summer to be "bad" and get him upset and annoyed(last straw syndrome,he hates being away during the working week and we are trying to sell the other house we bought to live near my mother in the nursing home,we expected her to live another 10 years and she died 5 months after going into the home) so the last thing he needs is a crazy annoying dog weekends.Summer has just suddenly "got it" and she has matured so much this last month, its amazing. She is about 15 months old.She still does the over excited kangaroo hop if she is very pleased to see someone out on our walks but she will now "sit" and ignore the birds, and the one time she ripped the lead out of my daughters hand, she came straight back. This is all major breakthrough stuff. She was just a pest before, now she is a lovely pet instead! |

It is so much fun when the light bulb in engaged! Didn't take too long. Teenagers don't get it until 25 or so. |
How come we haven't seen pictures of this cutie?????????
And congratulations on the penny dropping! |

Congrats. Its always nice when the light bulb goes on in their head. |
I have added photos of Summer into my album. |
That is the exact reason that for a second dog I DID NOT want a puppy.
Now we have Garfunkel...he is such a sweet spaz. |
And I love your dogs names!Simon and Garfunkel were the music we grew up with, still play it.I named our firstborn Simon and 2nd son Ben,but we called him Garfunkel when he was little! |
