oh I am so sorry. |
I'm sorry to hear that!!! All I can say is we're here for you. Should we bring the beer to your place? |
I'm so sorry. It really does stink, but you have a good attitude which will work in your favor. Remember that when one door closes, another one opens. I speak from experience. |
Oh, I'm so sorry! We've been thru this twice, and both times right before Christmas, like this is. It really does stink.
1/2 pay for 3 months sounds pretty generous at least - can you also still collect unemployment, or is this in lieu of? |
Oh no, I'm so sorry! Hope something comes together before spring.

As was said, "when one door closes another opens" Just keep your eyes open for the doors opening, keep your chin up and remember, you were looking for a job when you found that one and you will find another. Don't look back, keep looking forward and think about all the possibilities out there.
I too have been laid off, I heard the words, and the first thing that came to mind was how mad I was, that lasted about 30 seconds when I stopped myself and said, open your ears, listen to what they are telling you, it might be important financially. What is done is done, about a year later the whole company caved and those of us that were laid off first were already employed and for the most part happy. The rest of the company were competing for the same jobs and we were already somewhat established... so there are blessings, you just have to look for them. Best of luck and this is not the end, it's only the begining of your next adventure! |
I'm sorry to hear it Shon! At least its a very picturesque time of year to have some free time to spend in the great outdoors with Obe. I bet he'll like the company. Hopefully you can enjoy that a little before you get tied into a new job. Fingers crossed for you that all goes well! |
So sorry.....it really is rotten to do this right before the holidays, but it's good they are giving you some sort of package, I guess.... sorry again!!! |
Ditto! I'm so sorry. |
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your job. Fingers and paws crossed that something great shows up soon |
I know nothing can really help you feel better right now. It's a shock and an adjustment (we've been through it twice with my hubby). Things will work out, but give yourself permission to be sad now.
You deserve a day on the couch with a good book and a big cuppa peppermint hot chocolate. Virtual hugs to you. |
Yes, I'm in good spirits, bottle of cabernet and the Black Crowes playing on the ipod. It was not a surprise I knew it was coming. Financially I'll be fine, so no worries there, just cant go crazy buying everything I want. Obe is very excited. He gets to spend time with dad... 24/7, god help me. Kidding!
The company is very slow and times are hard so not really mad. I could have been laid off in August when they started letting people go. Then I would have been mad. No snowboarding. Instead they were nice enough to wait until Dec 1. |
Oh Jeeeeeze, that's horrible.
I hope you find something exciting ... and quickly! |

Ditto the crappy timing and all.
Obe will of course be thrilled. Best wishes to you in finding a new job. |
Been there Ultimately, I enjoyed every moment of my temporary freedom. Dogs are still a little miffed over the return to work (it's been almost a year).
I don't know if it's allowed, but this might be a great place to start networking for your next position or some freelance work. If it's OK, then a basic outline of what you are looking for. I'm always surprised where my job prospects have come from. |
you know; this time off might make a good opportunity to come and visit your family in GA and we could plan a big sheedpg day in the mountains!!! |
I'm so sorry and best of luck on finding the perfect job (you will ) |
Or... I could use this time wisely. Loveland Ski Area has wifi. Loveland is dog friendly. I have a season pass to Loveland. It takes 30 minutes to get there. So I ski in the morning and play with Obe. Look for jobs, ski, play w/Obe, etc.I am going to start this in the morning, suppose to get snow tonight. |
Sounds like the perfect way to spend your time on this life detour |

Loveland was the ski area we grew up on. 20+ years ago my mom ski patrolled there. I love that place. I think you have the right idea! |
Best wishes! I too have been through that route and really enjoyed my time off once the shock wore off! |
