I have a similar recipe that uses heavy whipping cream, but its referred to as pecan praline morsels........soooooooooo yummy. It only calls for pecans, brown sugar, and heavy cream. I may make those in addition to my Christmas cookies to give away. I just wish I could find somewhere that sold pecans at a better price. Of course the price is better now that it is winter. In summer a two cup bag is about $8. Right now its around $4. |
Yeah, they can be expensive.
........you said one of my favorite words. I love heavy cream. Mmm... your recipe sounds soooooooooo good |
I do the same thing! Only I put in 1/4 tsp of cloves. Everyone loves them. |
We add cayenne pepper.....hot and sweet...yum |
You'd have to add an epi-pen to my batch... |
Yum! I was thinking this sounded like a praline recipe.
cyakins - how much heavy cream and brown sugar does your recipe use? I may include both these in my candy making party next week. |
2 cups whole pecans
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar 4 tablespoons heavy cream Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients. Spread into a square baking pan, sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until coating is dry, and slightly crystallized, stirring once. Remove from oven to cool and stir once more. If not serving immediately, store in an airtight container. |
I think I will try and make some of each of these this year! Thanks for the recipes, guys.
I usually try and stay away from anything with nuts (or I just add them to my plate/dish seperately~ our daughter is allergic to nuts so I try and make sure no nuts get accidentally in a dish... HOWEVER... this Christmas she is not coming home (from college) for the holiday. So no nut worries, it might be a good time to make them. (Sometimes I LLOOOVE taking a dish to a potluck because I will make something with nuts to eat when she is not around!! ) |

Nope, recipe just says combine all together in bowl, seems to work great....... |
