not long,( sometimes he looks quite goofy and uneven), but better that than him getting any more scared. I have an aweful time trying to get all the matts out. Changed my mind about shaving him down since it is so cold, but we need at least a puppy cut. Archie has hipdysplacia and I think first got"hurt" at the groomers so I understand his reaction but I have tried for quiet a while now and nothing has changed. The hyperventilating really gets to me. Is there anything I can do to calm him down? I cut my finger quiet a few times to make sure he doesn't get nicked with the scissors. He will sit absolutly still when I give him a bangcut. So why is he so scared anywhere else on his body? And he also loves me getting his earhair out, wich I would think would hurt more. Sorry This is so long but I could use some advice, Nici |

My Merlin HATES being groomed, whether it is on the grooming table or not. He has hated it since the day we got him. He stays perfectly still while grooming so that is not a problem but how I know he hates it is he drools like crazy and pants. What I do is give him Rescue Remedy.(it is a holistic/herbal remedy you can get it at most health/vitamin stores) This has really helped. I am hoping that a few more times with the Rescue Remedy and he won't need it. I also used it with my Chow who used to be terrified of thunder storms. After a few times of using it, she was no longer afraid and I no longer needed to give it to her. |
I will have to try that. Tahnk you Nici |
