If it is open to viewing is this also a good time to check out breeders and sort thru the possibilities of who to inquire with about their puppies? What would be some tips for attending a show? I have never been and I am sure that there are some unwritten rules of behaviour for people, not just dogs. Thank you for your help. Dreaming of an OES in AB |

http://www.albertakennelclub.org/showtrials.html Sometimes you pay at dog shows, others you do not. Usually it is never a sell out unless it's a big show like Westminster. Yes, it is a good time to talk to breeders and other OES fanciers. Usually the OES people show up at least 2 hours before ring time to groom, so talking while grooming is good, except for the last 15 minutes or so before ring time as it's a little stressful. Usually we would rather you not pet the dogs until after we show so the hair doesn't get messed up. Always ask before petting someone's dog. |

Thank you for taking the time to answer my post I appreciate your advice, I went to the website and looked it over found some more info on shows. No worries the last 15 mins I think I will try to be out to watch the competition. Kind of makes me think of my kids and getting them out the door but I bet the dogs listen better. |
