how do you get rid of spiders???

I spent alllllll day cleaning yesterday....i mean, cleaning...from 930 am till 500 pm....i moved everything, vacuumed, washed baseboards, etc...you get the idea...

anyway, now that the weather is cooler, we are getting an infestation of daddy long legs...inside and outside......probably inside due to the windows being open....

it really grosses me out to have to clean under the awnings, getting those icky webs and spiders out of there....im not afraid of them...its just icky.....

is there something that i can spray under the awnings and on the porch ceiling to keep them at bay.....

i wont do anything inside except vacuum because i dont want panda to lick or touch it.....but im really tired of all of those ICKY webs...

I'm not sure with daddylonglegs, but I know some spiders are hard to get rid of if they're living within your walls. Plus, if they're laying eggs... you can get rid of the ones you have "now," but it will only be followed by 10000 more. That's at least what we were told by our bug spray person. You basically have to spray your perimeter a few months a part ...a few times... to get a real handle of it.
I HATE bugs so I feel your pain.

We are being invaded by camel crickets now that the weather is turning cooler. YUCK!
Clove oil. I put it on cloths around windowsills, in any cracks or entry points and burn it in an oil burner... not sure you want to do that though... I am not paranoid at all

The last big one we had, fell from the ceiling and Ru ran over because I screamed, squishing it dead with his paw
How about you get some birds to go after the spiders? Then a cat to go after the birds, and a dog to go after the cat... HEY! You already have the dog, how cool is that?

;)

heheheheheh.
A dog I used to have used to eat them!!

I have tried to get George to do the same but he is not keen
The vacuum is the best tool. You can finish the job by squirt a bit of bug spray into the vacuum before turning it off. That should relieve thoughts of the critters crawling back out.

Remember spiders don't have noses, they don't smell. They react to their environment thru chemically sensitive hairs on their bellies.....abdomen. The scent gathering is mostly to find food. So if clove oil is irritating, they may back off.

^^^ ^^^ that gets my vote!
if i can get used to ghosts, i can get used to spiders
Give me the ghosts any day.

Maybe they're attracted to the ghosts. Or vice versa...
i heard they are good luck in your house
I heard they were good luck too  they kinda creep me out but not as bad as snakes

Well of course you have spiders. Who else builds the massive spiderwebs that are mandatory for haunted houses?

Maybe the reason having spiders is so lucky is that it means there are no snakes around eating the spiders.
We have spiders here, everywhere. I was actually attacked by a pissed off wind scorpion/Camel Spider about a month ago. I almost stepped on it and it grabbed me by it's pincer claws. I screamed like a crazy woman.... that will be the last time I will take out the garbage barefoot. 8O Those things are huge and fast!! Luckily, not poisioness.

We have black widows and such.... but nothing freaked me out like this one that I found at my parent's house in Laguna Woods.

It's back looked like a cantalope, but hairy... It was so freaky. My Dad killed it a short while later. I did get a couple of other good shots from other angles. Just this was the best shot.
Was it as big as a cantaloupe?

:twitch:
No, only about an inch, I was really close.
