I really do not use my oven. I have a Nesco roaster that makes turkey very moist. The onlt thing different is no crisp skin. I hope to use my turkey fryer soon, but not with people comeing.
I'm an old fashioned girl. I love an oven roasted turkey. Of course, I've yet to try the amazing-nes that everyone says is a deep fried turkey. Maybe once I try some, it will change my mind.

I also want to try TurDucken one year.
I just can't wrap my brain around deep frying a whole turkey... I'd probably like it but I doubt I'd ever try to do it myself...
neither i go to my mums.... but given the choice i would roast

I'm not a tremendous fan of fried food, so I also couldn't see myself doing it either. But since so many people rave about how nice a fried turkey is, I'd love to try it sometime.
Someone bought some for us last year as a gift, and it was just too greasy for us!! We added it to the stash we made for the soldiers. ...but I'm all for trying to again if it was made by someone else.
Mrs. J. If done right a deep fried turkey is NOT greecie. You have to watch the temp to seal out oil.

That's what I had been told. That the hot oil should seal the turkey pretty fast; the oil only cooks the skin, and seals in all the turkey's juices. So its REALLY moist, but not greasy
one year when brian was working, i went down to the station....they fried the turkey, and dang! if it wasnt the BEST turkey that ive EVER had....

i wouldnt do it myself...the clean up was messy (or at least with 6 guys trying to clean up)....

i just roast..
I love doing it on the grill, well, I love having my dad do it on the grill! But I've never done it before, so it's roasting in the oven all the way for me.
I have never had turkey on the grill.... Hmmm. Need to try that.

For a few years my husband wanted to deep fry a turkey SOO BAD and I refused!!!!! I wanted the traditional roasted turkey and all the smells filling the house... so I just wouldn't go for it. Then one year he pushed and pushed, I caved in and FELL IN LOVE! Wow, what a good turkey it was. Holy Smokes ~ We all couldn't get enough.

We have deep fried it ever since. You do have to be careful and watch it close. It was not very greasy at all, and the skin (wich I shouldn't eat anyway) was nice and crispy. MMMMMmmmm

Now I have gotten to where I know exactly the stuff we like best to inject under the skin and all...

Scott has this crazy contraption that he uses and it sucks all the oil up into this "thing" and strains it and puts it back into the oil container. So all we have to do is put the cap on and throw it away, then wash the pot. Super easy. (course I refuse to do it!!! HE cooked it... HE cleans it) :D
