The rationale of the vet's diagnosis seems sound, so I have made the appt. to have it done. But needless to say, I'm apprehensive. Does this course of action sound too aggressive, or is this how this routinely dealt with? I just read the posts on foxtail seeds, and it's a scary thing. I didn't know about this. If it is this so common, maybe we should have a sticky. |

Oh bless him. Our old dog who we lost last year had a sore back foot and she was licking it, walking fine though. She then became ill and the vet spotted her back foot and shaved the area. She said it was badly infected with a grass seed in it. I felt awful at the time but she didnt like you touching her back foot. Will your pup let you bath the site with warm salty water? Let us know what happens. |
having a dog who has had surgery three times in the last two months - I wouldn't hesitate. I understand the hesitation though. I would ask about follow up care and add probiotics into the diet as they recover from the anesthisia, this can help avoid additional problems. |
