Wednesday it started to rain...hard...and the temperature dropped. By Friday we had ten to fifteen centimetres of snow (much more outside of the city....I heard forty plus). The layer of rain turned to ice, and the snow on top has made the roads beyond horrible. So, it's Saturday, and the pretty, fluffy white snow is now rock solid ice. Right now it's MINUS eight degrees C with a windchill of MINUS fifteen. Yep, shorts and t shirts a handful of days ago. So very typical of Winnipeg. Now it'll be six months before we get to wear shorts and t shirts again - at least six months. If only my parents had moved somewhere else before they had me....I'm such a homebody I'll never move. I will just pout for seven to eight months each year, as I always do. On the bright side, Hudson LOVES the snow. He sniffs and greets each individual snowflake as he walks by. My husband (who takes him for an early morning walk each day) couldn't be happier. A trip to the end of the driveway now takes fifteen minutes! |
