How can you tell your dog wants to be let into the house?

Well, "Monster" has her own unique way of doing it:

How does YOUR dog let you knew when it is time to come in?

That is too funny. Oliver just stands by the door (it is all glass, so we can see him), or if he is really impatient he barks at us.

He hardly ever goes out by himself though.
panda just headbutts the door till it opens.... :?
Hysterical!! These sheepies are an ingenious bunch, aren't they??
Ron,that picture is so cool!Priceless!Do you get the feeling you arent alone? Are being spied on?
We only have a labradoodle at present and she jumps like a kangaroo so her head appears in the high windows and she yips so attract attention "look at me,let me in".No offense to labradoodles but there are 2 doggy doors she could use!She will figure that out one day.She stands in front of them and flips them open and shut but isnt game to enter, they flip back and hit her in the face if she stands too close.
She can scream like a banshee, for no reason, anyone who thinks OES look like too much work should foster a labradoodle,if they are all like my daughters, you will then realise sheepdogs are a doddle.
well, if they are on the outside , they want to be on the inside. if they are inside they want to be on the couch. if they are on the couch they want to be on my lap -at the same time. Pretty much when I say - hey who wants to go outside and play ?

So does Pearl the cat.
This is so timely...and funny. This morning when Tony let the dogs out...Lizzie didn't want to come in...so, he closed the door. I came to the kitchen about 5 minutes later, and he told me to look at the creature outside the kitchen door. There sat Lizzie with the saddest expression I have ever seen on a dog!!!

I think next time...she won't take so much time coming in!
You mean you can't hear right now MO barking to be let in? She's vocal. In her youth she'd pull the picnic table trick, but for her it was the hotub and bedroom window and bark. Now her arthritic ankle doesn't like her jumping off a hottub. Also in her youth she's do the kangaroo jump in front of the diningroom window with a bark, but that too is gone. Darn arthritis.

The other three are physical, they beat down the front storm door. I've learned which dog it is by the type beating. One good dor jarring slug is Jack, a long toe nail slide is Glacier, a rapid multi scratch is Harry. Yes, we are in need of a new door.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone with my Monster climbing up and looking through the window to tell us she needs to be let in! I'm waiting to see if she continues to climb in the winter, or if she'll just knock on the door like her sister.

Sometimes, when I'm cooking (that window looks right into the kitchen), all I can imagine as she looks through the window is that she's placing her order.

"10 Sausages, please."
Welcome to the forum Jeremiah!

Do you think Monster wants her sausages "for here or to go?"
Brutus knocks once at the patio door..he sits there, and kind of high five at the patio door, but when we have company and he wants to come in, he scratches at the door ...LET ME IN HUH' LET ME IN !!!he won't stop until we let him in..kinda annoying when he does this.
He can open the screen door himself now it's to train him to close it !
Oh, I know for a fact she'll take her sausages "for here!" That way there might be more once she finishes the first batch!

Just an update to this story, we're fostering a little brown dog ("Brown Dog," is a breed in my mind, you see them everywhere) who has started jumping up on the same table to be let in. Of course, since she's considerably smaller than Monster, all you can see are the tips of her ears!

It's cute. :)
I leave the door unlatched, and Bailey comes in when he wants to. Usually I forgot he's out there, and come out of my office an hour later with Bailey lying right outside my office door and the back door wide open  In fact, I'm sure that's the situation right now. I'd better go close it!
