My first thought of Devil's Night is the fires in the city, which we don't have those anymore. Now it's called Angel's Night and vigilantes patrol the streets to keep mischief and arson at bay. It works, too. In a typical night, the Detroit Fire Department usually has about 30 fire calls; last night, only 5. I remember being young and watching the news and all of Detroit was ablaze. With all abandoned properties these days, it's almost too bad. Some fires would get rid of potential vermin pits and drug houses.
There's really not too many shenanigans on Devil's Night anymore, at least not around here. When I was young, we were the same way as you. Defending our house from tp and egg attacks. I did quite a bit of egg throwing in my time, though, too. |
According to a Detroit cop I know fires were way up last night but it's "unofficial" . There was also an explosion on Jefferson due to an arson fire. The dumpster behind our building at work has been torched 7 times in the past two months, whoever it is has started fires in several apartment and gas station dumpsters nearby ; what moron starts a fire at a gas station |
