The is a ceramic Christmas set, of a boy and girl carrolling, and with them is an OES. It is precious! http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/brow ... ar3=BROWSE Their website is very slow, but this set is so adorable. If we weren't watching every penny right now, I'd buy this! |

Oh I want it - well wanted it till I saw the price
very cute |
It's cute, but YOWSA!! |
Eh, I think it's a Bichon anyways |
I'm thinking too big for Bichon, more like a shaggy mutt about knee high or slighly less. Beardie, Wheaty, or terrier mix. What a bad time to have our subscription run out. Just clicked requesting a cataloge. No, not to buy these items, I have other favorites in there. |
They really have some wonderful things, don't they? My mother (who died in 1973) had a wonderful grater, that was kind of like a tennis racket, but smaller and metal. I have searched high and low for one, but figured they just don't make them anymore. Well! guess what! It is item #32560 in their catalogue! It was like a miracle when I saw it!!!! I love that old stuff! Oh yea...and their "children" Christmas candles are the ones Tony had as a child. He was very excited when he saw them. I told him I would order them for him, but he declined. He told me used to bite their heads off!!!!! |
Yes! the children's candles. One year I crawled under the tree (I was small and we were poor so had a small tree on a box) and set out children candles around base of tree. Old fashion lights with heat partially melted the children into Edvard Munch dolls, The Scream.
I'm rather fond of the fleece popup robes, virtually living in them thru the winter. Yes, the kitchen gadgets are great fun as well as items I well remember XX years ago.......ahem. The sell the heavy steel Christmas ornament hangers. ETC, ETC |
OH NO-- I Collect Byers Carolers---
I have to have this. I will pretend it is an OES, whether or not it really is. |
The Byer's Figurine Sheepdog has been around for a long time. I think my mom bought me one around 10 years ago. She bought it by itself, not as a part of a set. You can probably find it somewhere else if you search for Byers but it will probably still cost $50-60.
The Byer's carolers are pretty collectible and the are manufactured in Chalfont, PA. A cluster of them always look great on any mantle. Here is their home web site http://www.byerschoice.com/ |

Then it is a sheepie. Just as my (Bearded Collie) hot pads are sheepdog hotpads. |
I love that you can buy old timey candy from the Vermont Country Store. All the stuff I had as a kid. I'd love to go to their store--I'd probably spend a fortune! They even sell MANUAL typewriters. Typewriters are hard to find nowadays, but a manual! |
