Any ideas or help would be appreciated. By the way, our vet says not much is known about it but she either has Addison's because someone in her family had it or could possibly have it from ingesting antifreeze that she licked from the street. I checked with the breeder who says she never had a dog with Addison's, so I have to assume she got it on her paws during a walk and cleaned it off. (Such a neat and clean dog! She really cares about her appearance!) |

Addisons is certainly in the breed. How to put this politely? I have had several issues with my dog(s) and I have always received the response - oh none of my dogs have ever had this. first the breeeder may be telling you the truth and she/he knows all of the medical history of all their puppies, secondly, they may not know of any problems because owners are not great about reporting issues to breeders - face it this is a hard breed to get a puppy from and some owners may think if they report a problem - especially one where there may be an enviropnmental factor - they may never ever get another puppy in the future, they may have had a dog with an undiagnosed issue, they may have forgotten, or they may not be being totally honest.
The point is - you need to deal with your dogs issues and not worry about where it came from. you have notified the breeder and now its time to focus on your puppy. I know Addison's is a ratio calculation (yes Morgan did not have that one, but it was suspected) so I would suggest you need to do more than one blood test and calculation. Good luck - I am sure there are others on here with much more information. |
