YES! I've done this. There are two ways I know of.
Place cone standing up in cups of muffin pan. Pour batter to a little more than 1/2 full. Bake at temp and time you would for the cupcakes and batter you used. Let them cool and frost then sprinkles! HOWEVER, they can turn out soggy that way. I line the muffin pan and fill same amount with batter. Then take cone and place open end of batter. As it cooks, it bakes up into the cone. Then when done, take out of muffin pan, peel liner, and cool, frost, sprinkle. |
Thanks! I'll try that! |
Be sure you take pictures of the finished product Deborah. And why is a Weight Watchers leader baking cupcakes??????? |

Because they sounded really cute |
I hear cute foods don't have any calories, so you're good. |
I made these for Connor's daycare class last month for his birthday. They turned out really cute , but they are a major PITB to transport!!
I put the icing in a piping bag and piped it onto the ice cream cone so that it piled high and looked more like ice cream. Then I added the sprinkles. Very cute, simple and fun. The kids LOVED them. |
and with all that icing I bet the teacher loved you |
Mmmmmmmm.... icing is soooo good. I love when no one is around so I can slather more icing on. I have the "if no one is watching, then it's like you never ate it" mentality. |
Oh yeah!! My sis got her permission before hand so she'd know what she was getting into before I brought them. Still, it is messy with a bunch of three-year-olds. |

Ha ha! Not true, Mrs J. I specifically tell my group members that all the following does indeed have "points" (calories): 1. Eating when no one is looking. 2. Eating at the sink, standing up. 3. Taking a bite of someone else's food. 4. Grocery store samples. 5. A finger tip of cake batter doesn't, but once you get the spoon out, watch it! 6. And of course, BLTs have points...bites, licks and tastes! |
LOL, I AM SO GUILTY OF THOSE!!! ...and laughing because of how true those things are esp. if you're the cook of the house. I tell my kids they have to wait for dinner yet there I sit sampling the entire time. |
mmmm, frosting. (in best homer simpson voice)
I seriously don't know what's wrong with me. SO hungry lately Tammy, I'm surprised they let you bring in homemade treats. My daycare has a policy of no homemade treats. For birthdays it has to be from a store (with all the ingredients listed). Allergies have ruined childhood |
What?? Who ever said there's no free lunch never visited Costco at Noon......providing you don't take a cart into the store, then it's $200.
As for cake cones, I'm not cutting the lids of all my shoe boxes to transport cones, but sure sounds cute. |
I love the cupcakes in ice cream cones!
That was one of our favorite desserts when I was growing up. I love the little sogginess too. My favorites are homemade spongecake. |
Don't worry about the calories, just have them with a diet coke, it cancels out the calories. Trust me I'm a Nurse |
