Our animals are given only three weeks to be adopted and then they are to be euthanized, so if you are thinking of offering one a loving, forever home, please do not hesitate to call us at 573-642-7443!

haha no, I meant I would keep her or foster for my rescue. Didn't want to share this cutie

Good luck with her Deanna! Definitely keep us posted, I hope it works out!
So far no news and YES I WANT HER. I know many of you disagree but this is our choice.
Wow, what a beautiful pup! Hopefully either OES Mommy or Healther will get her!
:clappurple:

So glad there's so much interest. Yay!!!!
Can't wait for the update!!!
She is a cutie.

Nice work to one and all. Another loving fury face that will be saved. It makes the world a better place today!
Deanna did you get this girl or hear any news about her? I don't want to step on your toes, but if you decided not to get her I'm going to give them a call today
Apparantly she is a Great Pyrenese-Komondor cross. She is going to be a big girl...and it says she is being adopted!!!

That's a popular cross for working dogs. I don't even want to think about what that coat will look like. Luckily, she looks more Pyr than Kom.
Oh good! They must have just updated that after I looked.

I will say I am a little frustrated that I was told not to bother with this girl because others were working on it and then received no updates or follow up. It's a happy ending this time, but please if you tell someone to back off a dog that is in danger of being euthanized give updates and let everyone know if they are safe or if someone else should move in on it!!!
Often shelters don't want to deal with rescues, let alone an adoption out of the area. Even if you drove to the shelter, the fact you lived elsewhere would also keep you from adopting the dog. Don't get me started...........
Was that directed toward me? (dont want to make any assumptions)

Either way though I disagree to an extent. My experience pulling dogs from crowded city shelters (especially in that area) is that they just want those dogs out of there.
No it wasn't directed at you. It was my experience here that shelters wanted the dogs for adoption and their adoption fees but when the time was up, there was no effort to contact a rescue.......the rescue had to be there before, show an interest and then request they be called before the animal as destroyed.....and hope someone remembered.

It was one reason I got out of rescue.....the shelters here. Other shelters around the state, usually at least 200 miles away with only cactus inbetween were the ones who would work with rescues as they didn't have the population base for adoptions.

I've since heard locally the shelers are a bit more willing to work with rescues.

And there are rescues who will not adopt out of their region nor will they take in dogs who are also out of their region. Fortunately there are enough good rescues in OES who will go the extra mile for the dogs.

Finally an out of state adoption is difficult as the rescuer cannot do a homecheck unless they know someone in the area. I've done a couple for New England rescue here. One was was the dog was in Reno Nevada adopted here and facilitated by Grannie Annie in New England. Phew!
