threetimes a aday is probably too often for a dog over 6 months - well at least unnecessary. how much you feed really depends on the food though. |
I would split his daily ration into 2 feedings. They can both be the same (equal) amounts, or not. It just depends on your schedule and your dog's schedule. |
I feed my 17 w/o pup two cups twice a day...
He is a growing boy! |
I feed adults twice a day......amount varies by dog, size and their activity level. My littlest gets the same amount as dogs 30 lbs heavier than her because she is so active and the big guys are "slugs" in comparison.
Food quality determines how much. The better the food, the less you'll probably need. Let your hands be the judge, learn how to tell the difference between muscle and fat and how much fat your dog have and no more. Your vet is the person to ask. |

He is a growing boy! I would feed 17 week old pup small meals at least three times a day I would not reduce the amount of meals until the pup at is least 6 months old. |

I feed my adult dogs twice a day, the amount of food which you feed depends on the dog and how active it is, a normal active dog should get between 1 ounce to 1 1/2 ounces per 10 lbs body weight per day preferably divided into two smaller meals. The above is based on a premium kibble (not canned food). |
I feed Oscar three times per day. We used to feed him twice a day, but we discovered that he would get "sour stomach" overnight from going too long without food (tummy grumbling, vomitting bile in the early a.m.,). He gets 1 1/2 cups of premium kibble per feeding, and he weighs 105 lbs.

panda gets 3 cups a day, 1 cup am, 2 cups pm..she is 63 lbs and almost 5 |
Obe gets a cup a.m. and a cup p.m. and he is 68lbs 2 years. He is active and lazy just depends. |
