She has me very well trained. |

Heart will bring me her stuffies to throw..then she will bring me her bone and shove it on my lap. If I take it from her, she will start gnawing on it while I am holding it!!! They are so funny!!!! |
YES!! I think of it as a pacifier |
No, Archie throws his bone at us.
Then when you step towards it, he runs off with it in a mad bouncey manner. Oh he is such a wag! |
Our Archie likes to have his bone held .........he's a lazy boy !!

Lucy used to like that. All my boys take their stuff and run. All three of them like to take their treats on the big dog bed in the living room so it's a race to see who can get there first. |
I'd be lucky to have my fingers if I tried to hold the bones |

Ditto My bone lay off IT'S MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
nope, we have to hold the bone for panda too...at least until she gets really ''into'' it...then we can say ''lay down'' and she will.......
she attacks our feet with the stuffies |
OH YES.... Baloo has to have a bone holder. it's like he can't figure out how to chew on it unless I hold it. My hubby hates holding it... I don't mind it for a while, but if it gets slobbery I plop it on the floor. Baloo has figured it out and now only brings it to me to hold.
They are super silly dogs, these sheepies! |
No bone holding here. They all hold their own in their "hands". I have heard that it is the sign of a smart dog - using their paws like hands.
LOL - Mine are all so smart!! Good thing, I don't have enough hands to hold all my dog's bones...it would be a full-time job. Maybe that can be part of the question - How many dogs who have the human's hold the bones are from only dog families??? |
I don't have to hold Chaunce's bones, he will select one and either bury it somewhere in the house or chew it in private.
When he wants to snuggle he will lay on sofa or bed with me and chew/lick on the knuckle of my rt. index finger. He has done this since the ride home from the breeder. He is very gentle, it seems like a pacifier for him. He will crawl up beside me and root for that knuckle. It is our quiet time together. |
Simon used to like it a lot. He seems to have grown out of it as it only happens a few times now. His new "trick" is getting the bone that Gar is chewing on away from him. |
My 4 month old sheepie loves me to hold her kong bone for her, which is a good thing since she likes it filled with peanut butter. |
I have 4 dogs but the 3 Westies hold their own bones , only Archie wants a holder Thankfully !

Yes glad I'm not the only one. Obe will pick up the bone and hand it to me so he can chew on it. If I let go it drops to the ground and he will repeat the process. |
I thought that Bella was just being weird. The good thing is that she only chews on one end of the bone.
Ya got to love them. |
Yes, I have once again become a bone holder. Our new sheepie Wrigley likes for you to hold his bone for awhile. ONce he gets it really soft and chewie he will take over by holding it in his "hands". Barkley use to love this as well as a puppy and then sort of outgrew it. Barkley too likes to steal the bone away from Wrigley after it's been chewed to his liking. Wrigley seems to be disturbed by it but just jumps off the couch and goes to find another. Thank goodness he's been a laid back addition (except for jumping up on people which we are working on). He also jumped over the back of our couch to get on tonight. We were both shocked. I guess he was to lazy to walk around the front? |
