I tried to sell our old Playstation 2 on Craigslist and I am thinking this repsonse is not legit! It angers me to think that somebody would use a Military ploy to try to con! I have given her 24 hours to respond or she will be reported! This is her response to my ad......I will leave out her email for now! Hi,i want to buy the ps2 ASAP,i would have wanted to come take a look at it, myself to ensure its condition, but I am not disposed to do so reasons, being that I have been deployed to the middle east on national duty and am entrusting that you can and will ship the merchandise to my kid sister who works at the US consulate and i won't mind including an extra $60 for shipping in the payment due to the urgency of want and any incontinences it may cost you at the time.Payment will be made by me through Paypal, kindly get back to me as soon as you can if you have a Paypal account and send me a money request of the total inclusive of the shipping and I'll make the payment ASAP,if not, you can easily sign up for Paypal its free.Expecting to hear from you. Thanks Susan My Paypal email address is ******** I do have a Paypal account but, I am certainly not going to share the info with her. Our account is for my ebay shopping and rescue!!!!!!! Just a warning!!!!! Scammers everwhere! |

The in-the-military come on:
just words. The trap is supposed to look good. Basically, anybody that wants your paypal account # IS a red flag. There's secure ways to do things. Also, shipping through craigslist? No way, not to Nigeria, not to around the corner. While on the subject: going to pick up/purchase anything worth (let's say) $100 or more? Don't take the cash with you. Stash it somewhere (even park a couple blocks over or whatever) go check it out and return with the money. I've heard of people getting jacked for hundreds of dollars. Same goes in reverse; have something of concrete value, meet in a public place or with someone else there to be sure you're not on the brunt end of a rip-off. Generally, I go with my gut insinct. And if the sentence structure looks off, it's somebody from outside the country. Exceptions are of course plentiful. Beware means Be Aware. literally. |
